NORMAL, Ill. – It’s graduation weekend at Illinois State University, but it will cost you more to graduate from there in four years.
The ISU Board of Trustees voted Friday to increase tuition by around 3.5 percent — to about $26,000 a year before financial aid.
Student fees and housing will also be going up, as will out-of-state tuition.
The University blames higher costs for virtually everything in raising tuition.
Some students say while it’s not a good thing that new students will pay more, but the bright side is that the state seems to be giving a push to in-state schools.
The board also approved building a new residence hall, and spending money on planning for a new facility for the College of Engineering.
