EAST PEORIA, Ill. — ISP has released new information about a Central Illinois motorcyclist who was killed in a traffic crash in Tazewell County Monday afternoon.
Initial reports indicated the crash happened along Illinois Rt. 26 at Spring Creek Road just outside East Peoria around 2 p.m. and involved one other passenger vehicle.
Troopers say a 19-year-old named Caleb Crowley was driving a newer model Toyota sedan southbound on Rt. 26 when his vehicle reportedly slammed into the back of a motorcycle stopped at the nearby traffic intersection.
Illinois State Police say the rider of the motorcycle is not being positively identified yet as authorities work to notify next of kin, however they describe the individual as a 66-year-old man from East Peoria.
ISP says a crash investigation is currently ongoing.
The uninjured Crowley, from Metamora, Illinois, currently faces a charge of Failing to Reduce Speed.

EAST PEORIA, Ill. – An investigation continues into what has turned out to be a fatal accident between a car and a motorcycle in Tazewell County.
The crash happened at approximately 2:00 p.m. Monday on Illinois 26 near Spring Creek Road near East Peoria.
State police say a passenger vehicle was travelling southbound and struck a motorcycle.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
A portion of IL 26 is closed as an investigation continues.
