PEORIA, Ill. — It’s still not entirely clear exactly when public works officials in Chillicothe will resolve an ongoing water distribution issue.
Thousands of customers in Chillicothe are still advised to conserve their water use do to some recent pumping equipment failures.
Public Works Superintendent Shawn Sutherland tells 25 News the city is waiting for parts to arrive, but crews hope to have everything fixed in the next day or two.
He said the water is still safe to drink and there does not need to be a boil notice issued.
Around 6,000 customers are being asked to refrain from outdoor watering for such purposes as washing cars and irrigation.
