PEORIA, Ill. β A Peoria teenager has pleaded guilty to a murder charge in connection with a year-and-a-half old case against him.
Court records indicate Tashon Stewart, 18, pleaded guilty last week to a felony First-Degree Murder charge. In exchange, another murder count and an aggravated battery charge were dropped.
Treek Booker-Lawson, 23, was found dead in a car on West Corrington Avenue in Central Peoria in early-November of 2020.
An autopsy indicated Booker-Lawson suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Stewart β because he was 17 at the time of the crime β could face up to 40 years in prison when heβs sentenced June 30th.
