PEORIA, Ill. — Storms that could turn severe will move into the Peoria metro area on Wednesday.
25 News Chief Meteorologist Chuck Collins predicts the best chance for widespread severe storms will be between 2-4 p.m.
“The primary threat will be damaging winds up to 70 miles per hour, but a few tornadoes can’t be ruled out,” Collins said.
He tells WMBD’s “The Greg and Dan Show”, the system has some instability in it.
“We’ll see what happens after this morning’s rain moves off to the East, and how much cloud cover we have left over. I still think that there’ll be enough spin in the atmosphere to spin up a couple severe cells here and there before this thing moves out of here,” Collins said.
