EUREKA, Ill. – A Woodford County teacher is facing felony charges for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a student.
25 News reports Trisha Phillippe — a study hall teacher at Roanoke-Benson High School — faces charges of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse and Distributing Explicit Material to a Minor.
A 14-year-old student told investigators he received explicit text messages and photos from Phillippe — and also was kissed by her at school — all on several occasions, ending last Friday.
Phillippe — who reportedly confessed but has so far pleaded not guilty — is out of jail and has pleaded not guilty in the case. She’ll be back in court May 9.
She is believed to have resigned her position with the school district, and is reportedly hospitalized and receiving mental health treatment.
