PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says he’s reopening the investigation into the death of a three-month-old boy in 2007, given that the boy’s mother is now one of two charged with the death of their eight-year-old son earlier this week.
Harwood tells 25 News the cause of death of little Nigel Ragon in 2007 was initially listed as Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
But, he says now that Stephanie Jones, 35, is charged in the death of Navin Jones, a “red flag” has been raised.
Harwood says there otherwise was “no viable cause of death” for Ragon, so, “our goal is justice.”
Jones and Brandon Walker, 40, will be arraigned for the death of Navin Jones April 28th.
