EAST PEORIA, Ill. — Fire crews believe what started as a porch fire resulted in the total loss of a mobile home Sunday afternoon in East Peoria.
Around 2:30 p.m., the Spring Bay Fire Department, assisted by the Germantown Hills Fire Department, responded to Broadview Estates on Spring Bay Road.
Spring Bay fire chief Dennis Perry told 25 News that one man was in the home when the fire started and suffered a minor injury to his hand, but did not require hospitalization.
Investigators have not determined a cause, but they believe the fire started on the porch and extended into the home through an open door.
No foul play is suspected and investigators are still working to determine the cost of the damages.
