PEORIA, Ill. – There are no injuries reported in the wake of a crash involving a vehicle that slammed through the front of a Peoria area bar late Friday.
First responders initially reported the collision shortly after 3 p.m. at the business, located near the intersection of Garden and Western in South Peoria .
The vehicle smashed through the front of the business and all the way inside.
Emergency crews and police blocked a portion of nearby roads for a time while a tow truck worked to remove the car from the area.
The scene was cleared within 30 minutes.
Peoria Police say no one was inside the bar when the car hit it. They also say it’s believed one person in the car fled the scene, while fire officials say another person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Damage to the bar is estimated at $50,000.
