PEKIN, Ill. – Some first responders who helped save the life of a four year old boy last month in Pekin will be honored Monday.
Pekin Police say the police officers and firefighters who responded February 28th will be given recognition during a special Pekin City Council meeting Monday at 9:00 a.m.
Crews were called to Myers Lake when a four year old boy was seen walking across the somewhat frozen lake.
Three Pekin police officers, with help from the fire department, got in and rescued the boy when he fell through.
Police say if it were not for the officers’ quick actions, the incident would have ended in tragedy.
