PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria City Council is being asked to essentially let the sale of the Spirit of Peoria riverboat go through.
On the agenda for Tuesday night’s City Council meeting is a vote by the City Council to waive its right of first refusal on acquiring the boat.
The city was notified of a potential sale a month ago by its current owner, Captain Alex Grieves, to Florida-based Yacht Starship Dining Cruises for $1 million.
The city’s agreement with the Spirit of Peoria expires April 1.
