PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria County Sheriffs Department now admits that a mistake was made leading to the public being asked to help locate a missing man deemed an alleged sexual predator.
25 News reports the department admits Jordan Watkins, 44, was released from jail due to what was termed an “administrative error” — caused by being in the same jail pod as someone else with the same last name.
The Sheriffs Department says their main goal right now is finding Watkins, then reviewing what happened internally.
You can see a picture of Watkins above. If you saw him, you’re asked to call the Sheriffs Department of Crime Stoppers.
