CHICAGO, Ill. — Illinois Gov. J-B Pritzker and several other elected officials joined a Chicago rally in support of Ukraine on Sunday.
Pritzker expressed his support for the people of Ukraine as the Russian invasion continued.
“But, whether you come from Ukraine, your family has descendants from Ukraine, or your family is from anywhere else in the world, today, we are all Ukrainian,” Pritzker said.
Pritzker said the people of Illinois stand with Ukraine against Russian aggression and tyranny.
The governor told the crowd that his great-grandfather left Kyiv, Ukraine for Chicago in 1881.
