PEORIA, Ill. – Mother Nature isn’t playing nicely with us.
Mild temperatures Wednesday will lead to a potential winter storm Thursday, according to Chuck Collins, Chief Meteorologist with our news partner 25 News.
“The event starts with mild weather [Wednesday], with rain and highs in the mid-fifties,” said Collins. “The rain changes to a wintry mix, including freezing rain about day break Thursday. The wintry mix changes to all snow late Thursday morning, and snow continues all day, accumulating four to five inches around Peoria, with locally heavier pockets. Strong north winds will make travel hazardous.”
A Winter Storm Warning will be in effect for the area starting at midnight Wednesday night until 6 pm Thursday.
