PEORIA, Ill. — East Peoria Police have reportedly been investigating in a neighborhood along East Sheen Avenue since making contact with and detaining a person there earlier Wednesday.
Neighbors noticed police vehicles were still blocking part of the street around 10 a.m.
According to news partner 25 News, there was some kind of police standoff with a potential suspect or person of interest taken into custody.
Details about the incident are still mostly unclear.
One resident in the area told WEEK TV it was not normal to see police vehicles around and that the neighborhood was usually very quiet.
East Peoria P.D. is reportedly continuing its investigation and more information could be released soon.
