PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria firefighters responded just after 1 a.m. Monday to reports of a house fire in the area of N. California and E. Ravine.
Crews arrived to find heavy fire coming from a second story bedroom window.
No one was inside the home. The residents got out before firefighters arrived.
A fire investigator determined that a space heater used in the bedroom started caused the blaze.
No injuries to firefighters were reported.
Damage was estimated at $35,000.
