PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police are releasing some details after two adults were arrested following a traffic stop late Thursday night.
Police say it happened around 11:30 p.m. in the 700 block of West Moss, and escalated after an officer is believed to have smelled cannabis coming from the car.
When a passenger tried to get out of the car, a pistol allegedly fell to the ground, and police say a search of the car after that resulted in another handgun being found.
The two adults — whose names weren’t released — are being charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, No Firearm Owners I.D. Card, and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.
