PEORIA, Ill. — Over 100 people, many of them children, were forced to evacuate Dream Center Peoria Wednesday due to flooding.
Sprinklers were accidentally set off, flooding several parts of the building, damaging a good portion of the sleeping areas and the building’s offices and operational rooms.
Dream Center’s Andy King told WMBD’s “The Greg and Dan Show”, they’re asking for donations to help the residents who’ve been displaced.
“We can’t be in the building at the minute. So, just things like small bottle toiletries, blankets, personal hygiene stuff, Gatorade, hand warmers, gloves, Chapstick, things like that,” King said.
The donations are being loaded up Thursday until 3 p.m. in the Dream Center Peoria’s parking lot at 714 Hamilton Boulevard.
King said residents could return to the Dream Center as soon as Thursday evening, but it could take longer.
