PEORIA, Ill. — High winds late Wednesday night left thousands without power in the Peoria area.
Ameren Illinois reported roughly 3,000 customers in the Peoria area were in the dark at the peak of the outages.
Larger outages were centered near Alta and Mossville, where more than 1,100 customers were without power.
Creve Coeur at one point had as many as 711 customers lose power. An earlier outage east of Spring Bay also impacted a reported 1,225 more.
Thursday morning, Ameren reported some customers still had not had their power restored, but numbers were much lower.
The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office also said Rt. 90 at Duncan Rd would be shut down through late Thursday morning for repairs to Ameren pole.
