PEORIA, Ill. — There’s a threat of damaging winds in the Peoria area Wednesday night.
News partner 25 News Chief Meteorologist Chuck Collins says that winds will continue to get stronger as the day progresses.
“The peak will come when a cold front moves through about midnight, as winds could gust as high as 50 miles per hour around Peoria,” Collins said.
He adds, “Unsecured objects could go airborne and scattered power outages are possible.”
A Wind Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for the Peoria area from 3 p.m. Wednesday – 6 a.m. Thursday.
“If you’re traveling, areas northwest, like the Quad Cities, could see 65 mile per hour wind gusts,” Collins said.
