PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood is identifying the victim of a two-vehicle crash Friday night in the same area of downtown Peoria where a SUV and a school bus were involved in an accident last month.
Harwood says Rodney Golar, 56, of Peoria, was pronounced dead about an hour after the crash at a local hospital, and suffered from multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
The accident happened just after 5:30 P.M. Friday near Jefferson Avenue and Bryan Street. Golar is believed to have been the only person in his vehicle, while two people were in another car involved. They were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Peoria Police are still investigating the crash. The previous crash there back in October was blamed, Police say, on street racing.
