PEORIA, Ill. – It’s not believed Peoria Police have found whoever is responsible for a shooting Monday night, but they did find two people who allegedly gave chase to them during the investigation.
Police say they’re not charged with the Monday shooting, but Jeremy Moore, Jr., 18. and Jamal Porter, 20, each face felony weapons charges, while Moore also faces a number of traffic-related offenses.
The chase happened Tuesday afternoon, starting near Adams and Wayne Streets when officers tried to conduct a traffic stop, and didn’t end until the vehicle was stopped in the 2100 block of North Peoria.
A search of the vehicle allegedly turned up a semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine.
Meantime, police say they’re still investigating the shooting near Starr and Westmoreland. Two juveniles suffered gunshot wounds.
