PEORIA, Ill. — The Susan G. Komen Memorial in Peoria is gearing up for their ‘More Than Pink’ Walk on Saturday, Oct. 2, which starts at the Metro Centre Shopping Center.
“Our opening ceremony begins at 8 a.m. and the walk will begin at 8:15 a.m. And, for those who maybe can’t make it, or aren’t comfortable coming out, there is a way to participate virtually on our Facebook group,” said Susan G. Komen Memorial Development Manager Katie Cox.

Breast cancer survivors will lead the way on Saturday, kicking off the event with the “Hope Walk”.
“The virtual kickoff (on Facebook) will be a little different than the one at the Metro Centre. But, still full of great tips, tricks, reminders, thanks and celebrations for the event,” Cox said.
Registration for Peoria’s “More Than Pink” Walk will go on through Saturday morning ahead of the 8 a.m. start.
