PEORIA, Ill. — A shooting Monday evening at Logan Park in Peoria that left two juveniles wounded is linked to a rollover crash less than 30 minutes later at MacArthur Highway and John Gwynn Jr. Avenue.
A crowd was gathered at Logan Park for a memorial for four young women who were killed a year ago in a street racing crash.
Public Information Officer Semone Roth said officers responding to the shooting saw several people get into a vehicle and drive off about 6:20 p.m.
Police followed the vehicle, which crashed into another vehicle at the intersection, hit a utility pole and rolled on its top.
News partner 25 News said six people were in the vehicle. Four of them fled the scene and were not in custody Monday night, according to police. Two others, both juveniles, were taken to a hospital with minor injuries they suffered in the rollover.
Police also said the vehicle they were in was stolen.
