UPDATED 10:03 P.M.
PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police say what turned out to be a nearly ten-hour standoff following a stabbing incident ended with the man accused of the stabbing having to be subdued.
It started just before 9:00 a.m. Thursday in the one-thousand block of East Frye Avenue, after police say in a news release a man stabbed his brother inside the home.
While the victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, a Special Response and Crisis Negotiators along with an Emergency Response Team all worked to talk the accused stabber out.
That happened just before 7:00 p.m. – when police say non-lethal means were employed to subdue the man, and after a robot went inside the residence and several gas rounds were also used.
He was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries. It’s not clear if the otherwise unidentified man will be in custody, or if he will face any charges. An investigation continues.
