PEORIA, Ill. – An East Peoria man who allegedly lied about a stolen gun to police, and who was later arrested on federal charges, has been sentenced after pleading guilty earlier this year.
The U.S. Attorney’s office says 29-year-old Joshua Dunn was sentenced Wednesday to 42 months in prison followed by three years of mandatory supervised release. He was arrested in January of 2020 on a charge of Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
A 9 mm Glock which authorities said was stolen from Dunn’s family’s home, was later found with him at an East Peoria hotel. They claim Dunn lied about where the gun was.
Dunn was on parole and had at two prior felony Domestic Battery convictions when he was arrested.
