PEORIA, Ill. – The COVID-19 pandemic isn’t the only health concern for the health departments in the Tri-County and the area’s other medical entities.
Monica Hendrickson, administrator of the Peoria City/County Health Department, says the public’s help is needed once again in determining what are the other health issues in the area that need addressing.
“Our current assessment identified four health priorities: mental health, substance use, cancer, and healthy eating/active living,” said Hendrickson. “We’ve seen great efforts in all of those areas.”
The Partnership for a Healthy Community’s “Community Health Needs Assessment” is updated every three years, and Hendrickson says the best way to do that assessment is through the public.
