UPDATE –
PEORIA, Ill. – A man wanted in connection with a weekend shooting has surrendered.
Peoria police were looking for Jared Cameron, 29. Cameron was wanted in connection with an incident in the 2300 block of North Flora at 5:10 p.m. Aug. 15 during which a man was shot in the face.
The victim’s injuries, while serious, were were not considered to be life-threatening.
Police say Cameron reported to the Peoria Police Department around 1 p.m. Thursday and turned himself in. He was taken to the Peoria County Jail after he was arrested for aggravated battery with a firearm.
The investigation of the alleged incident is continuing.

UPDATE — During the course of the investigation into Sunday night’s shooting, Peoria Police identified a suspect as 29-year-old Jared Cameron.
So far, officers have been unable to locate Cameron and are asking for help from the public.
Cameron is described as a black male, approximately 6’00” 180 pounds, short black hair, brown eyes, and a beard.
Police should be called if Cameron is seen, and he should not be approached as he is considered armed and dangerous.

PEORIA, Ill. — A man was hospitalized after a Sunday afternoon shooting in Peoria.
Peoria Police were called to the scene in the 2300 block of N. Flora Avenue just after 5 p.m.
PPD told news partner 25 News that one victim was shot and taken to a hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have no suspects at this time.
An investigation is ongoing.
