PEORIA, Ill. — A vacant, boarded up house caught fire Wednesday at 818 S. Shelley.
Peoria Fire responded to the scene at 12:30 p.m. and found no one inside after searching the home.
Heavy smoke and fire was coming from the north side of the home, which eventually caused some fire damage to the home next door.
All residents were safely out of the next door home when crews arrived on scene.
The fire was considered to be under control at 12:50 p.m., and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
No injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters.
