PEORIA, Ill. — There’s a possibility of severe weather moving into the Peoria area late Thursday afternoon and evening.
News partner 25 News Chief Meteorologist Chuck Collins said as a cold front approaches the area, the metro could see some isolated severe cells along and south of I-74 between 4-8 p.m.
“The tornado threat is low, but large hail and damaging winds are the primary threats,” Collins said.
Behind the storm front, cooler and drier air is expected in time for the weekend.
