PEORIA, Ill. — Three Peoria residents of an apartment complex in the 2400 block of Gale have been displaced after a Wednesday afternoon fire.
Peoria fire crews responded just before 2:00 p.m. on reports of smoke in the single-story apartment complex.
The fire originated in a bedroom and was producing heavy black smoke, according to Battalion Chief Scott Strum.
Fire crews were able to contain the fire to the apartment in which it started.
The apartment had heavy fire and smoke damage, while smoke damage was seen throughout the rest of the building.
No injuries were reported, and housing was being secured for the displaced residents by property management.
