PEORIA, Ill. – The 44th annual St. Jude Telethon raised over $9 million in the fight against childhood cancer.
The exact total was $9,440,011 when the telethon ended Saturday night on WEEK-TV.
This year’s total was slightly over last year’s tally of just over $9 million. The telethon raised $12 million in 2019 prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Memphis-to-Peoria runners raised $1.3 million during their journey this year.
All St. Jude Runs, including Memphis-to-Peoria and the satellite runs, raised $4.7 million.
The St. Jude Runs have raised $71 million since they began in 1982.
