PEORIA, Ill. — The St. Jude Memphis to Peoria Runners are making their way back home.
St. Jude Runs co-founder Mike McCoy told WMBD’s “The Greg and Dan Show”, they’ll be back in Peoria around 6:15 p.m. Saturday. Well-wishers can meet up with them downtown.
“They can come to Kumpf Boulevard and John Gwynn Avenue as we run into the Caterpillar Lot, right across from the Civic Center,” McCoy said.
The Memphis to Peoria Runners will converge on the Peoria Civic Center with satellite runners from all over the Midwest ahead of the St. Jude Telethon. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, spectators will not be allowed inside the Civic Center building during the telethon.
“The runners from some of the 35 cities are running to Peoria, some are doing virtual, some are doing both,” McCoy said.
McCoy has run all 40 years with the Memphis to Peoria Runners for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
Saturday’s St. Jude Telethon will be shown on WEEK-25 beginning at 6:30 p.m.
