DUNLAP, Ill. — The Village of Dunlap is celebrating its 150th anniversary Saturday with a “Party in the Park.”
Village Clerk Tracy Korger said there will be activities for all ages.
“We’re going to have food trucks, vendors, live music all day, and kids activities,” said Korger. “The Dunlap Library District will be there with crafts and art demonstrations.”
Rain will be in the area Thursday and Friday, but the forecast for the weekend remains mostly sunny with highs in the 80s.
If someone has concerns about COVID-19 precautions, the entire event is held outdoors, according to Korger.
“You can take your space and social distance very easily,” said Korger.
Korger said there will be all genres of music throughout the day Saturday, with rock-and-roll bands scheduled for later in the evening.
The “Party in the Park” will be held in Central Park Saturday from 1-8 p.m. on the corner of Ash and First St. under the water tower.
Dunlap will be honoring ancestors of founders of the village, as well as former mayors and city officials at the beginning of the event.
There is no charge to attend.
