PEORIA, Ill. — Several people were hospitalized overnight following a crash that involved an Illinois State trooper’s vehicle in Peoria.
The incident happened around midnight Thursday in the area of Western and Laura Avenues.
Illinois State Police said 35-year-old Natasha Smith was arrested for DUI and a Scott’s Law violation.
Smith was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, then arrested by Peoria Police.
Two people in the vehicle stopped by the ISP were also sent to the hospital.
So far in 2021, 14 squad cars have been struck in Scott’s Law violations, according to the Illinois State Police.
