SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Wednesday reported 478 new cases of COVID-19, including nine additional deaths.
It’s the second straight day that fewer than 10 deaths have been reported by IDPH due to the virus.
The seven-day statewide test positivity continues to drop and is now at 1.8%.
Just under 30,000 vaccine doses were administered throughout Illinois Tuesday, well under the average of 41,000 doses administered daily in the past week.
As of last night, 1,013 Illinoisans were hospitalized with COVID-19. Of those, 278 were in the ICU and 150 were on ventilators.
Laboratories across the state collected more than 35,000 test samples for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
