PEORIA, Ill. — After reporting zero area deaths related to COVID-19 on Tuesday and Wednesday, the Peoria City/County Health Department Thursday reported three such deaths.
A Peoria County male in his 60s succumbed to the virus, as did a female in her 80s.
In Woodford County, a female in her 90s died from virus complications.
On the bright side, fewer than 20 new cases of the virus were reported throughout the entire tri-county.
12 new cases were reported in Tazewell County, six new cases were reported in Peoria County, and just one new case was reported in Woodford County.
Hospitalizations also decreased between Wednesday and Thursday, as five fewer patients with COVID-19 were in ICU beds.
ICU bed usage in the tri-county remained the same at 14.
In Region 2 of Illinois, seven-day rolling positivity rate decreased to 2.6%, ICU bed capacity remained at 21%, and hospitalizations overall dropped by eight.
