PEORIA, Ill. — The Peoria City/County Health Department (PCCHD) Tuesday reported hospitalizations in the tri-county due to COVID-19 have dropped by 21 in the last 24 hours.
On Monday, 65 patients were in area hospitals with the virus. On Tuesday, that number was down to 44.
ICU beds in use saw a decrease of three, while non-ICU beds in use decreased by 18.
In more good news, no new deaths were reported in the tri-county area due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours after 10 deaths were reported over the weekend.
Overall, 40 new cases were reported Tuesday by PCCHD. 15 new cases were reported in Tazewell County, 14 new cases were reported in Peoria County, and 11 new cases were reported in Woodford County.
On a regional level, Region 2 of Illinois had its ICU bed capacity dip slightly to 21% from 22% on Monday.
Seven-day rolling positivity rate remained low at 2.7%, and hospitalizations have decreased by seven in the region in the last 24 hours.
