PEORIA, Ill. — A combined six residents of Peoria and Tazewell Counties between Thursday and Friday died of COVID-19 complications.
Tazewell experienced the deaths of a woman in her 60s and a man in his 70s. The man lived at Generations at Riverview.
A Peoria woman in her 40s and man in his 50s passed away, with COVID aggravating their underlying health conditions. A woman in her 60s and one in her 80s also died.
A total of 77 people from Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford tested positive. 42 of them are Peoria residents, while 23 reside in Tazewell, and 12 are in Woodford.
Tri-county hospitalizations dropped from 79 to 75, of whom 22 were intensive care-level.
The greater Region Two rolling seven-day positivity has fallen to 4.1%. Hospitalization metrics continued a good trajectory, as ICU bed capacity has increased to 19%, and the rolling seven-day average of overall COVID hospitalizations dropped by eight.
