PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Firefighter/Paramedics responded Monday morning around 10:40 a.m. to 711 W. Eleanor Pl. on reports of a house fire.
Crews first on scene found smoke coming from the open front door and an adult woman resident standing on the front porch.
The woman was treated on scene by fire department paramedics for smoke inhalation until she was transferred to Advanced Medical Transport (AMT) and taken to OSF.
Fire damage was contained to the kitchen area of the home and was under control within six minutes of arrival.
Smoke damage was found throughout the home, contributing to an estimated $40,000 of damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by a Peoria Fire Department Fire Investigator. The condition of the woman is unknown.
Battalion Chief Clint Kuhlman said the woman didn’t have any burns, but was being treated and evaluated for smoke inhalation.
