PEORIA, Ill. — The tri-county 24-hour COVID-19 reporting period between Monday and Tuesday brought back overall good news.
No deaths related to the virus were recorded, and a relatively low 101 people tested positive.
57 of the new cases reside in Peoria, 33 are in Tazewell, and the other 11 belong to Woodford.
Just as importantly as the state looks to enter the “Bridge Phase” of Restore Illinois, hospitalizations took a steep drop, from 155 to 138. 35 of the 138 as of Tuesday afternoon were in intensive care.
For Region Two, ICU bed availability remained steady, at 16%. The overall number of COVID hospitalizations dropped by three, while rolling seven-day positivity ticked slightly downward.
