SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Monday reported 53% of Illinoisans 18 and older and 50% 16 and older have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose.
More than 65,000 doses were administered Sunday in the state. The seven-day rolling average of vaccines administered daily is above 125,000.
IDPH Monday also reported 1,959 new cases of the virus, including 22 additional deaths.
As of Sunday night, 2,218 Illinoisans were hospitalized with the virus. Of those, 491 were in the ICU and 227 were on ventilators.
The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity has dropped back under 5% and currently sits at 4.7%.
