PEORIA, Ill. — A Peoria man has been convicted for the death of his 6-month-old daughter.
According to Peoria County Court records, 21-year-old Kyle Purser pleaded guilty to First Degree Murder yesterday (Tuesday).
On September 8, 2019 police were called to Purser’s home after the infant stopped breathing.
The baby was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said the cause of death was suffocation.
The death was ruled a homicide, and Purser was arrested the next day.
Purser will be required to serve 100% of a 20 year sentence and 3 years of mandatory supervised release. He will get credit for 517 days of time already served.
