PEORIA, Ill. — Region 2 of Illinois has now slipped below 20% ICU bed capacity, as just 19% of ICU beds in the region were available as of Friday afternoon.
The Peoria City/County Health Department reported 339 new cases of COVID-19 throughout the tri-county area.
Peoria County accounted for 181 new cases, Tazewell County added 117, and Woodford County added 41 cases.
ICU capacity in the tri-county area did increase by one compared to Thursday, but four fewer med/surg beds were being used.
Seven-day rolling postivity rate in the region remained steady at 6.9%.
Hospitalizations due to COVID-19 in the region overall increased by 11 in the last 24 hours.
