SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Close to 4,000 people throughout Illinois between Tuesday and Wednesday received positive COVID-19 test results.
Illinois Department of Public Health reported 3,790 new cases throughout the state, to go along with 28 deaths.
139,724 vaccine doses were given during the reporting period, a number that dwarfs the daily average by over 30,000.
A total of 1,710 people as of Tuesday night were hospitalized with the virus. 353 of them were intensive care-level, and 142 were on ventilators.
Labs collected a total of 80,628 specimens to be tested for the virus.
