PEORIA, Ill. — The Peoria City/County Health Department (PCCHD) Wednesday reported 369 new area cases of COVID-19 throughout Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford counties.
Peoria County added the highest number of new cases with 193, while Tazewell and Woodford added 129 and 47, respectively.
Even though there was a high new case count, no new deaths have been reported due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours throughout the tri-county.
Area hospital usage overall only increased by one, but five more patients are in area ICU beds Wednesday compared to Tuesday.
As of Wednesday afternoon, 128 patients were in area hospitals with the virus.
Region 2 metrics in Illinois continue to trend upwards. Seven-day rolling positivity rate increased to 6.8%, ICU bed capacity in the region is at 21%, and 13 more patients are in hospitals in the region compared to Tuesday.
