PEORIA, Ill. — A rash of Sunday evening fights led to the Peoria Park District Police’s demand all visitors evacuate Glen Oak Park.
The order came around 7:00.
“My understanding is that the day was mostly great… good crowds and peaceful until late in the day when there was a couple of disturbances which led to shutting off entry into park to prevent others from joining into the altercation,” Park District Executive Director Emily Cahill told WMBD News.
“[Peoria] Police also responded and we are grateful for their support.
“No injuries, no property damage, no arrests. Temporary closure was for safety of users. “
