SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker could announce Thursday the date when all Illinoisans 16 and older will be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.
Multiple media outlets have reported Apr. 12 will be the date.
The governor was also expected to announce an advancement in phases of Restore Illinois for the state, though it was unclear as to whether it would be a complete jump to Phase Five, “Illinois Restored,” or an upgraded version of Phase Four. All regions of the state have been in Phase Four since early Feb.
To date, Alaska and Mississippi have been the only states that have opened up the vaccine to all adults.
