SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Monday reported just 782 new cases of COVID-19 throughout the state, including 12 additional deaths.
It’s the first time fewer than 1,000 new cases were reported in the state since July 21, 2020.
Another number, average vaccine doses administered daily, continues to look better.
The state of Illinois is now averaging more than 100,000 vaccine doses administered per day. The seven-day rolling average of vaccines administered is 102,147 doses.
The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity is 2.6%.
As of Sunday night, 1,112 Illinoisans were hospitalized with the virus. Of those, 227 were in the ICU and 95 were on ventilators.
The state administered its 4 millionth vaccine dose over the weekend and now is just above 4.1 million.
