PEORIA,Ill. — Firefighters were called to the 2200 block of W. Howett early Monday morning on reports of a house fire.
Fire Battalion Chief Ralph Phillips said crews found heavy fire and smoke coming from the rear of the story and a half home.
Occupants of the home evacuated before firefighters arrived.
Residents of a neighboring home were evacuated as well due to fire spreading to the siding and eaves.
The fire took over 20 minutes to bring under control.
The home was considered a total loss and will be razed.
No injuries were reported.
